The Paddington Arm is the 22-kilometre London section of the Grand Union Canal, running from Bull's Bridge Junction in Southall eastward to Paddington Basin in the heart of central London, where it connects with the Regent's Canal. Little Venice — the picturesque basin where the two canals meet, overlooked by stucco terraces and bordered by weeping willows — is among the most prestigious and sought-after mooring locations in England. Paddington Basin itself has been extensively redeveloped with restaurants, offices, and a waterside walkway, and long-stay residential moorings here are exceptionally rare and valuable. CRT manages the arm, and mooring licences on the London towpath are tightly controlled. The arm passes through Alperton, Greenford, and Hanwell before reaching the countryside of west London — a surprisingly varied journey for a fully urban waterway.
